How can we help?

Frequently asked questions
How do I back up and restore my vault?
Go to Settings → Your data → Back up vault. Armory360 creates a single .a360 file encrypted with your PIN, which you can save to Files, AirDrop to a Mac, or store anywhere you like. We never receive it.
To restore, open Settings → Your data → Restore from backup and pick the file. A backup opens with the PIN it was made with, so remember which PIN you used. Back up regularly — especially before changing phones.
I forgot my PIN. Can you reset it?
No — and that’s by design. We never have your PIN or your data, so there’s nothing we can reset or recover.
- If you turned on Face ID or Touch ID, it still unlocks the vault, so you can keep using the app. Changing the PIN needs the current one, though, and new backups are encrypted with it.
- To start over with a new PIN, delete and reinstall the app (which erases the vault), then restore a backup using the PIN that backup was made with.
After 5 wrong guesses in a row the vault locks for 30 seconds, after 10 for 5 minutes, and after 15 for an hour — and stays at an hour for every 5 wrong guesses after that. Waiting out a lockout doesn’t reset the count; only a successful unlock does, with the correct PIN or with Face ID or Touch ID. Your data is never erased by wrong guesses.
What’s included for free?
The free vault holds 3 firearms, 1 personal ID and 1 firearm document, with unlimited ammo, range days and maintenance. PIN, Face ID and encrypted backups are always included.
If you reach a limit, everything you’ve added stays exactly as it is. Full ($19.99) removes the limits and adds Insights, Range cards and the iPad layout. The Range Pack ($9.99) adds the shot timer, drills, dry fire, target scoring, Apple Watch, the Lock Screen range day and NFC tags. Complete ($29.99) is both. All are one-time purchases — no subscription. See Pricing.
How do I get my purchases on a new device?
Purchases belong to your Apple ID. On the new device, open Settings → Purchases and tap Restore Purchases. Your vault data moves separately, with a backup.
What does the Apple Watch app do?
With the Range Pack, the Watch gives you drill haptics, a random-delay start, a rep counter and a live mirror of the phone’s shot timer. It runs alongside the iPhone app and receives only the drill you’re running — none of your vault data is stored on the Watch.
The phone does the shot detection. Keep it near you on the bench or in a pocket with the microphone uncovered.
How do NFC tags work?
With the Range Pack you can write a standard NFC sticker for any firearm, put it on the case, and tap your iPhone to open that firearm in Armory360. The tag holds only a random link — no make, model or serial — and it opens only inside your unlocked app.
Does the shot timer record audio?
No. The phone listens for the sharp onset of a shot and keeps only the timing. Audio is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Timer beeps play even when the silent switch is on, so you can hear the start signal at the range.
Can I show a digital copy of my carry permit instead of the card?
A digital copy may not be accepted as official in every state. Carry the physical document wherever the law requires it.
Show-permit mode displays a permit full screen so it’s easy to read, and it’s handy as a backup reference — but Armory360 isn’t a government-issued credential, and we can’t tell you whether a copy satisfies the law where you are.
Does Armory360 sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Not yet. iCloud sync is planned and will be optional, storing your data in your own private iCloud. Until then, move your vault between devices with a backup file.
Why does barcode lookup ask to go online?
Scanning a box barcode works offline. If you also turn on online UPC lookup (off by default), the app sends only the barcode number to UPCitemdb to fill in the product name. Nothing else is sent. See the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Use Settings → Erase all data to remove every record and photo while keeping your PIN set up, or delete the app to remove everything. Because we don’t hold any of your data, there’s nothing to request from us.
